Posting Id - 3076 - Department - Community Services - Division - Recreation and Culture Services - Section - Recreation Facility Operations - Shift - Thurs to Mon Afternoon/Evenings - Rate of Pay - $27.11 - $27.39 Hourly - Job Type - Temporary Full Time - Replacement/New Position - New Hire - Posting Type - Internal and External - Posting Date - 07/31/2025 - Application Deadline - 09/02/2025 **Position Summary**: Reporting to the Supervisor of Facility Operations - Community Centres and Pools, the Seasonal Labourer - Sports Dome is responsible for facility operations maintenance related to the Richmond Green Sports Dome. This position oversees the facility to ensure programs/events run as scheduled and is responsible for the security and safety of the facility and its patrons. **Key Duties and Responsibilities**: - Ensures the facility is opened and closed at scheduled times. - Notifies the Supervisor of Facility Operations regarding any staff or facility related issues. - Performs general cleaning/maintenance (i.e. mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, window cleaning, washrooms, snow shoveling, garbage pick-up, etc.) in accordance with the daily housekeeping schedule. - Maintenance related to surface. - Responds to requests from patrons (general public) and other City of Richmond Hill staff on general facility issues and/or maintenance requests. - Operates power tools, cleaning equipment is a safe manner. - Is responsible for the security of the building. - Ensures that all policies and procedures are being followed by patrons and part time maintenance staff as applicable. - Delegates and assigns job duties to part time facility maintenance staff and follows up, as required. - Adheres to corporate initiatives (i.e. recycling, energy management). - Utilizes computer systems (i.e. Outlook/CLASS). - Operates and monitors facility operation systems and records readings. - Ensures facility scheduling is delivered in a prompt and timely manner. **Education and Experience**: - Secondary School Graduation Diploma - Standard First Aid and CPR **Required Skills/Knowledge**: - Demonstrates understanding of, and works to meet, pre-determined standards; promptly and efficiently completes work assignments. - Detects and communicates non-compliance to appropriate level; deals with non-compliance issues requiring straight forward corrective action. - Seeks guidance as needed when the situation is unclear; and applies guidelines and procedures that require some interpretation in dealing with expectations. - Plans and organizes own activities to accomplish pre-determined standards or procedures; seeks clarity on priorities as needed; monitors the quality and timeliness of own work; responsibly uses the resources at one’s immediate disposal. - Responds to customer needs in a timely, professional, helpful and courteous manner, regardless of customer attitude, strives to consistently meet service standards; and follows up with customer during and after delivery of services to ensure their needs have been met. - Promotes a safety conscious working environment; notices potentially hazardous situations, consistently enforces safety procedures and demands compliance with health and safety regulations with part time staff and contractors. - Ontario Class "G" Driver’s License in good standing and must provide a satisfactory current Drivers Abstract from the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) - Requires satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check - Demonstrates good judgment and makes sound decisions - Shows commitment to personal growth, development, and leadership opportunities - Shares new ideas and challenges the status quo - Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with honesty, openness, respect, and trust - Takes initiative to participate in a culture of learning, mentoring, and sharing - Contributes to building and being a part of a positive culture - Demonstrate the City’s corporate values of care, collaboration, courage and service **Leadership Competencies**: - Demonstrates personal leadership - Builds people and culture - Cultivates open communication - Shapes the future - Navigates and leads through complexity and change The City of Richmond Hill is committed to inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes.
