At the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) our vision of ‘Service. Relationships. Results.’ is all about providing a valued service, building strong relationships with our stakeholders, and achieving greater results for the province.

The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention, Construction and Facilities and Leasing departments. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.

Under the direction of the Manager Investigations, Retail Services (RDC) and Manager, Physical Security (DDC), the Building Security Officer ensures compliance with all policies and procedures related to security and safety at the Branch Head Office, government liquor stores and distribution centres.

This role provides security advice to store managers and employees throughout the province, operates a central alarm monitoring system which provides support to Branch facilities throughout the province, and provides security support and the safeguarding of all Branch assets, employees, contractors, customers, and business partners. The Officers are friendly, detail-oriented and professional team members who have the ability to build strong working relationship with our internal and external customers.
- A criminal record check is required.
- There are 2 Auxiliary level positions available: 2 position in our Delta Location and 3 position in our Richmond location.
- Auxiliary positions are not guaranteed shifts.
- Current work shifts available at Richmond Location: Day & Afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday.
- Current work shifts available in Delta: Sunday night shift.
- Uniforms are supplied.
- Safety Shoes are required to work in the warehouse.

**Position Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent, related experience* in security or law enforcement and/or in providing customer service, preferably in a retail environment with customer facing role or over phone.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).

*Recent, related experience must be within the last 5 years.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to resolve security situations while meeting or exceeding expectations and maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Able to thrive is a fast-paced environment where change is a constant.
