POSITION: Financial Controller

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Sexsmith, Alberta

JOB SUMMARY:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with maintaining effective and efficient accounting systems, processes and practices based on recognized accounting principles, policies, procedure and guidelines while ensuring compliance
- Assist with Year-End and various government reporting
- Ensure government compliance with GST, Source Deductions, WCB, Corporate Tax etc.
- Responsible for bank deposits and bill payments
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile accounts, including continuity of debt and prepaids
- Maintain fixed assets, including operating vs capital lease analysis and monthly reconciliations
- Ensure accurate accounting records by reviewing work and providing feedback & support to the finance team
- Identify, problem solve, and implement solutions to financial discrepancies and irregularities
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Assist CFO with other tasks as necessary

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation considered an asset
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in the oilfield industry
- Minimum 3 years experience in accounting
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting
- Ability to manage own workflow and accountability of own work
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
