**Summary**:
The primary role of the Freight Broker is to complete every aspect of the dispatching process for general Highway/Railway freight while consistently meeting and / or exceeding the customer service expectations. The incumbent focuses on maximizing profit margins and reinforcing service expectations while building and maintaining relationships with new and existing carriers.

**Duties**:

- Process pick-ups/orders
- Brokers are to fulfill pick up request for non assets service zones excluding Rogue’s common carrier LTL network
- Brokers are to negotiate on clients behalf to secure availability and meet the clients budget while maintaining gross margins
- Broker are also expected to act as” purchasers of freight” to fill our own Rogue trucks when possible.
- Brokers are expected to keep up to date with market conditions, supply, demand and price points
- Brokers are expected to track and trace all shipments until completed with POD in hand & follow protocol for any specific SOP’s
- Brokers are responsible to keep supplier records current
- Always educate and present viable options to our clients
- Keep close relations to our suppliers and set regular meetings with preferred and new suppliers
- Real time tracking daily to ensure proactive communication in the event of a delay is reported to customers before delivery is missed.
- Accurately record your work updates in the service notes at all times.
- Client service reports where applicable

**Education / Qualifications**:

- Problem-solving, time management and strong negotiation skills
- Well-organized and self-motivated to achieve results. Ability to manage multiple business relationships and execute under pressure
- Driven by success and the opportunity to be competitive in an evolving environment/economy.
- Proven selling, customer service and communication skills
- Analytical, data driven approach to sales.
- 2 years of Inside Sales or Sales Support
