**The Opportunity**
Recreation and Culture Services builds vibrant, healthy, active and connected communities by providing facilities and programs that give all Barrie residents an opportunity to participate in recreational activities. Key responsibilities include identifying community recreation needs and interests, developing and delivering recreation opportunities which meet these needs and interests, maintaining and operating recreational and cultural facilities to provide a setting for these activities, and managing the provision of space to external community providers and groups.
The Recreation Facilities Custodian position is responsible for the cleanliness and disinfection of the City's various facilities. Specifically, this position performs various cleaning duties and provides customer service to facility patrons. Overall, this position plays an integral role in maintaining City facilities to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for staff, residents, and visitors of the City of Barrie.

**Education**(degree/diploma/certifications)
- Less than high school graduation or equivalent
- Position Equivalency Code: C
**Experience**
- One (1) year of experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities
**Knowledge/Skill/Ability**
- Demonstrated Ability to:
- exert effort to lift, push, pull or carry objects weighing up to 25kg
- exert effort to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, grasping, bending forward, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or turning regularly
- perform repetitive physical tasks
- use of powered cleaning equipment such as swing machines, floor sweepers/scrubbers, power washers
- perform tasks with exposure to noise, cleaning chemicals, bio fluids and hazardous waste
- work independently with mínimal supervision
- Intermediate skills include: Verbal Communication
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays

**Other Important Information**
**Location**: Peggy Hill Team Community Centre, 171 Mapleton Avenue, Barrie, ON
**Hours**: The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
**Wage**: This position is within the CUPE Local 2380 Bargaining Unit with the following pay level and 2025 pay range:
- Pay Level: Level 2
- Yearly Salary: $43,771.00 to $$52,343.20
- Hourly Pay Rate: $24.05 to $28.76
