**Are you passionate about building strong community connections and helping families thrive?** KARA Family Resource Centre is looking for a **Family Navigator** — a dynamic, community-minded professional who will work primarily through outreach to connect with families and local services. In this role, you’ll help create meaningful pathways for children and families to access the programs and supports they need most. By fostering collaboration among community service providers, you’ll help ensure families experience seamless, coordinated care — directly enhancing family well-being and reducing childhood vulnerabilities. Family Navigation services at KARA focus on providing families with supportive, barrier-free guidance as they navigate programs and resources tailored to their unique strengths and needs.

This is a one-year term, full-time position of 37.50 hours per week. Typical work hours are weekdays, however flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends is required. The Family Navigator will report to the Program Manager.

**What You'll Do**:
1. Develops trusting relationships with families to facilitate meaningful navigation and linkages to a network of supports.

2. Assists client in establishing and meeting personal and familial goals, based on

client’s unique needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates strategies related to achieving client goals.

3. Performs regular one-on-one family support through in-person, telephone, and online family navigation sessions.

4. Coordinates and schedules supported visits with clients/families and other community service providers.

5. Provides opportunities to enhance parenting knowledge, an understanding of child development, and to build healthy parent-child relationships.

6. Shares culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate tools and resources; and offers practical supports to help reduce stress for families and their children.

7. Develops knowledge of local resources/activities.

8. Facilitates public transportation to and from visits in the community.1. Assists in the planning and implementation of special events and represents KARA Family Resource Centre in the community. Participate in community meetings related to the program.

2. Maintains accurate and current documentation regarding client progress, statistical

information, and program expense forms.

3. Maintains professional growth and current knowledge of professional and community resources.

4. Provides ongoing evaluation and assessment of the programs and services with the goal of maintaining an effective, efficient quality service delivery model. Makes recommendations about the development of new and existing programs and services.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field, and/or a combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of experience in an outreach environment dealing with parent/child/family concerns.
- Specialized knowledge and experience engaging with diverse members of community.
- Comprehensive knowledge of community-based services, including the public and private sectors.
- Knowledge about barriers faced by marginalized/vulnerable families and an understanding of the impact of trauma on families.
- Experience working one-to-one with clients, families, and service providers.
- Current Standard First Aid Level C certificate.

- Commitment to a problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Possess a valid Alberta driver’s license and use of a reliable vehicle.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $49,064.93 per year
