**The Position**

Reporting to the Cultural Communities Coordinator, the Cultural Communities Navigator (CC Navigator) typically serves as the first point of contact for clients from diverse backgrounds, facilitating their connections to AS AB/NT and ensuring their needs are effectively addressed. The CC Navigator must collect essential information, provide information, and refer in appropriate circumstances in a way that fits the unique needs of the individual. This position is responsible for coordinating referral systems and client service, delivering support and education programs within the assigned area, and building strong community and health care professional relationships.

We are seeking two CC Navigators in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, or Fort McMurray, Alberta. These are full-time, term positions until June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension or permanency. The CC Navigator will require travel throughout the province on a quarterly basis.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

- Researching appropriate community resources and supports to meet client needs
- Promoting and delivering the Society’s programs and services utilizing various delivery methods
- Supporting referral intake & ongoing follow up
- Facilitating and participating in the delivery of standardized programs
- Collaborating with targeted community partners to develop and maintain inclusive programming
- Providing outreach regarding services and benefits available
- Delivery of referral and assessment services with partner organizations
- Coordinating and facilitating support groups while ensuring inclusivity
- Maintaining accurate and objective client records
- Assisting in raising public awareness about dementia and the way it affects families and individuals
- Other duties or projects commensurate with the nature of the position.

**Qualifications**
- Post‐Secondary education in Social Work, Health Services, Human Services or related field, or related experience in a health or social service agency, or education-related function
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and a secondary fluency in Tagalog, Mandarin, or Cantonese is required, other languages will be considered.
- Professional designation in the human service sector is considered an asset
- Demonstration of knowledge of cultural competency including sensitivity to diverse perspective and backgrounds
- Experience in community engagement an asset, including public speaking
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and caregiving issues
- Familiar with services and resources needed by seniors and/or persons living with disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain professional and respectful in difficult and sensitive situations
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Accuracy and attention to detail, e.g., data entry and record-keeping
- Recent and clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle.

**Working conditions**
- Hybrid work environment with routine use of a computer
- Standard 35-hour work week
