**Role Overview**

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Co-op Student to join our Communications and Public Affairs team for a four-month term. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of communications activities that may include event support, social media and digital content development, media relations, and internal and external communications.

The Communications Co-op Student will work with a high-performing team of communications professionals to help shape and deliver impactful internal and external communications that support our strategic goals and bolster our brand. **Main Responsibilities**
- Help tell THP’s story by promoting our health care services, programs, people, community initiatives, and partnerships to grow awareness of our brand
- Develop communication materials including internal newsletters, event collateral, social media posts, corporate messages, news releases, and presentations that support internal and external initiatives
- Support the Communications and Public Affairs team with media relations
- Use a variety of multimedia platforms to distribute and leverage content including video, photography and new media platforms
- Support digital communications and content requests across multiple platforms including THP's public website, employee intranet, and social media channels
- Support communications team with proactive media relations and pitching stories
- Monitor media coverage to track public sentiment, identify key stories, and help inform strategic communications decisions
- Maintain and update key contact and distribution lists to support effective outreach and engagement with stakeholders and media
- Assist in coordinating large-scale internal and external eventsSupport the Communications and Public Affairs team by providing support for special projects and perform other assignments as required

**Key Skills**
- Pursuing a degree or post-graduate certificate in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Canva, social media platforms, and content management tools
- A results-driven, professional mindset with a commitment to excellenceAn interest in or experience with health care settings is a plus
