Lastwall Networks Inc. (Lastwall) is a Canadian cloud based security provider focusing on building new zero trust networking environment identity, credential and access management platforms. The Lastwall platform is a core to cloud based identity firewall system, which focuses on the positive identification of users (user behavioural whitelisting) and delivering risk based access control and anti-fraud capabilities that are risk appropriate through a powerful but lightweight set of cloud based APIs. This methodology allows for unified systems access in a zero trust networking environment, in scenarios where there is a strong desire to have a primary system that allows for greater control and visibility into access of remote, widespread systems. Lastwall's head office is located in Vancouver, Canada, with offices in New Brunswick and Ontario, and with management being led by Canadian founders and executives.
**Summary of Position**
Lastwall’s Human Resources Manager reports to the CEO and plays a vital role in leading the design and delivery of people and talent strategy and programs. Collaborating with the Executive Team, the Human Resources Manager contributes at both a hands-on and strategic level to support the growth and evolution of Lastwall’s dynamic and engaging culture. A true generalist, with a strong foundation in HR best practices and an innovative and creative flair for people leadership, this role is responsible for executing all aspects of Lastwall’s people programs and initiatives to create a thriving employee experience.
**Job Duties**
HR Strategy:
- Develops and implements HR Strategy that supports Lastwall’s regulatory requirements, growth plans, and promotes a workplace that inspires innovation and collaboration
- Partners with leadership team to identify talent needs, guide talent recruitment and growth plans
- Continually assesses and improves the competitiveness of all programs and practices against relevant comparable companies, industries and markets
Leadership:
- Functions as a key member of the leadership team responsible for achieving Lastwall’s strategic objectives
- Establishes a reputation as a trusted business partner and advisor to all employees at Lastwall
- Guides and resolves key organization, management, and operational opportunities and issues
- Champions change management best practices, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts and employee engagement initiatives
- Manages HR reporting, budgets, and people metrics in support of the business and Board requirements
HR Operations:
- Promotes talent attraction plans and activities that supports a strong pipeline of top talent is well established
- Develops progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs that provide motivation, incentives, and rewards high performance
- Provides guidance to employees at all levels of the organisation on career development, coaching and management strategies and employee relations issues.
- Leads development and implementation of our training strategy to ensure a highly effective training program that supports the ongoing growth of our people
- Establishes credibility throughout the organisation to be an effective listener and problem solver of people ideas and issues
- Develops planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill the identified gaps - talent management, succession planning, performance management, coaching and development
- Develops, implements and leads Lastwall’s HR policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organisation. In particular, manages the human resource information systems (HRIS) database
- Drives improvements in human resources systems and controls that will provide better decision support and visibility for continued growth without stifling our innovative culture
- Hires and develops great talent that will further elevate the organization’s performance
- Promotes systems, programs and initiatives that achieve high employee engagement and retention
- Other duties as assigned
**Professional Experience and Qualifications**
- 6+ years working in a Human Resources related discipline preferably for a technology organization. Along with evidence of successive and significant tenure and promotions
- Track record of success in fast growth, entrepreneurial cultures with the ability to navigate and manage the ambiguity and unknown of an organization that is experiencing rapid growth
- Energetic and resourceful leader in achieving their goals
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to articulate and inspire a vision and rally peers and team to achieve it
- Maintains outstanding knowledge of HR best practices and latest trends for policies, programs, laws and issues - in Canada and the US
