**What this role is all about**:
The Business Analyst is responsible for providing collaborative service excellence as the primary contact between internal business units and information technology stakeholders. Working and partnering on complex cross functional projects, the Business Analyst manages IT projects, performs comprehensive systems analysis to determine current and future business requirements and identify opportunities to contribute to an overall superior member experience.

**What you’ll do**:

- Business Analysis_
- Leads ongoing reviews of business processes to develop optimization strategies that align with the Gulf & Fraser strategic objectives.
- Analyzes the critical information and requirements and makes recommendations for process improvement, ensuring the solutions developed meet business needs and align with strategies.
- Documents and clearly communicates the results of any analysis conducted.
- Updates, reports and communicates project progress on a regular and timely basis to appropriate stakeholders.
- Performs user acceptance testing when solutions are being implemented.
- Monitors deliverables and ensures timely completion of assigned responsibilities in projects.
- Prioritizes initiatives based on business needs and requirements while managing competing resources.
- For organizational initiatives where a project manager is not assigned, assumes the project management role including the creation of project plans, managing resources, managing communication, and monitoring project performance.
- Collaboration_
- Partners with internal departments to gain an understanding of processes, policies, and procedures.
- Elicits internal customers’ business requirements through analysis, research, documentation, and portfolio management.
- Effectively communicates insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management; Conducts meetings and makes presentations to share ideas and findings.
- Leadership_
- Provides thought leadership and innovation in Digital Transformation strategic planning; maintains alignment in projects and initiatives with the department’s and Gulf & Fraser’s overall strategic objectives.
- Stays up to date on the latest process and digital transformation advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- Provides guidance, coaching and direction as appropriate to other members of the department and project teams.
- Educates and trains business users to implement best practices and leverage technology.
- Proactively seeks opportunities for process improvements to increase overall efficiencies
- Communications & Liaisons_
- Acts as liaison between G&F and third-party vendors for RFPs, development requests, and the implementation of solutions.
- Maintains positive relationships with internal and external contacts and stakeholders.

**A little about your qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in business, information technology or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated understanding of the project management life cycle (PMP is an asset)
- Strong analytical skillset
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Prior experience in the financial services industry is an asset
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®) designation is an asset.
- Certification or familiarity with Lean methodology is an asset
- Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
