Canada Malting (CMC) is the largest malt company in Canada, producing approximately 400,000 metric tonnes of malt per year for brewers and distillers around the world - from the largest of multinational organizations to the smallest of craft brewers as well as for food processors. Canada Malting operates three malting facilities in Canada (Thunder Bay, Montreal and Calgary) as well as a network of grain elevators in Western Canada.

**POSITION SCOPE**

Reporting to the Malting Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the safe, efficient, and effective operations of the malting and grain handling processes at the Calgary plant

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide leadership to plant production, shipping, and grain handling operations in conjunction with other production staff.
- Establish operational priorities and schedules for manufacturing products and grain handling processes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Coordinate processing/shipping activities to meet customer requirements.
- Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Ensure adherence to best in class manufacturing practices and procedures.
- Manage environmental and safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations best in class safety performance.
- Oversee production in the bagging line facility

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Brewing or agriculture education an asset.
- Related grain, agriculture, malting, or brewing experience is considered an asset.
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of and commitment to general safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of HACCP.
- Experience with labour relations is considered an asset.
- Experience in the handling and management of railcars is considered an asset.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Post-secondary education or combination of education and experience.
