**Program Instructor (Seasonal)**

This position is seasonal from April to August. This is an hourly position (up to full time hours) working Monday to Friday including holidays with occasional evenings and weekends.

Creating the future vision for one of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada’s most prized treasures, Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) located at 55 Pavilion Crescent in Winnipeg is the not-for-profit organization that oversees Assiniboine Park’s operations and ensures its ongoing redevelopment and financial viability. Our team is inspired to create and deliver extraordinary experiences for the people who visit and use the Park and Zoo including building friendly, supportive, effective relationships with stakeholders, community and the general public.

**The Role**

Program Instructors play a key role in creating exceptional experiences by fostering a dynamic, fun, safe, and welcoming environment where participants feel a genuine sense of belonging. Program Instructors will work closely with Education Coordinators to help deliver impactful and memorable educational programing for a wide range of audiences including children, families, schools, and tourists visiting the Park, Zoo, and Leaf. In addition, they will provide support to the Camp Counsellors in the seamless operation of camps.

Program Instructors are crucial in delivering pre-school programs and school programs, tours, and both revenue and non-revenue generating experiences at the Zoo, Park, and Leaf. The Program Instructors will assist with the development and implementation of new programs, activations, & engagements as situations arise.

**Required Education, Experience & Other Qualification**:

- Post-secondary education in recreation, education, (environmental) sciences, early childhood education or other related field or be working towards the degree.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Minimum of two years experience as an instructor, tour guide, early childhood educator, or program facilitator.
- Prior experience working with a wide variety of ages is considered an asset.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective program curriculum and lesson plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to efficiently deliver lesson plans and curriculum while providing help and feedback to participants.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment with valuable instructional materials.
- Knowledge of different teaching methods and techniques.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others.
- The ability to speak French is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
