**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Night Manager creates a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience for the hotel’s guests. It is a careful balance of keeping guests, employees and the building safe, all while delivering exceptional customer service. The Night Manager is exceptionally good at diffusing difficult situations as well as taking creative and urgent steps to prevent conflict and unsafe situations for all. Additionally, the Night Manager supervises a small team of security guards and works closely with the Front of House Management team to ensure all nights run smoothly.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Acts in the best interest of the guest and staff safely, with an emphasis on proactive and professional communication.

Supports a safe and comfortable environment for staff, guests, and others working in or visiting our premises.

Supports a great guest experience through ensuring a clean and safe environment through regular patrols addressing any issues in the moment.

Promotes informed interactions with guests relating to our guidelines.

Responsible for eviction of guests not following hotel policies.

Works to prevent, identify and de-escalate situations which might compromise staff and guest safety.

Acts in a way which exhibits empathy, kindness, and professionalism, with awareness of the significant impact the role had on our internal and external environment.

Ensure continual and effective communication with guests, staff, management, and other partners in a great guest experience.

Conducting rounds of the hotels 3 floors and staff area as scheduled by the General Manager.

Conducting pool tests and keeping records of chemical levels.

Ensuring Pool area is locked, and pumps are running.

Assist in all departments as required when busy.

Assist in driving hotel shuttle when required.

Shoveling/Clearing of snow, protecting safety for entrances and walks of the hotel

Additional duties as directed by the General Manager

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**

Passionate about providing an elevated guest experience through upholding both safety and enjoyment as priorities in careful balance.

Ability to demonstrate a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.

Familiarity with Liquor control and Licensing Act

Must be able to work in an environment with extreme stress and conflict.

Has a proven track record of diffusing difficult situations.

Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to use empathy, and active listening.

Possesses self-awareness and understanding of de-escalation techniques.

Availability to work overnights and weekends.

Valid Driver’s License

**PHYSICAL COMPONENTS OF THE JOB**

Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

Must be able to work in an environment with extreme stress and conflict.

Has the ability to manipulate heavy objects up to 250 pounds.

Has the ability to shovel / sweep front canopy area during downtime as needed.
