**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**

**1. Teach Fundamentals**
- Introduce and teach basic basketball skills in a fun, simple way:

- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all skill levels.
- Encourage teamwork, sharing, and good sportsmanship.
- Focus on fun and enjoyment, not winning or competition.

**3. Communication with Kids**
- Use clear, simple instructions suitable for young children.
- Demonstrate skills visually before asking kids to try.
- Give lots of encouragement and positive feedback.
- Be patient and repeat instructions when needed.

**4. Structure & Class Management**
- Start and end classes on time with a clear routine:

- Warm-up → Skill drills → Fun game → Cool-down
- Manage group behavior positively and keep kids engaged.
- Ensure all kids get equal attention and time on tasks.

**5. Safety & Supervision**
- Ensure the playing area is safe and appropriate for young children.
- Monitor kids closely to prevent injuries or unsafe behavior.
- Follow emergency procedures and report any incidents.

**6. Parent Communication**
- Greet parents before and after sessions.
- Keep them informed of their child’s progress, upcoming sessions, and expectations.
- Be approachable and responsive to concerns or questions.

**7. Collaboration**
- Work with other coaches, assistants, or volunteers to ensure smooth sessions.
- Support less experienced coaches or helpers as needed.
- Align with club or program goals for youth development.

**8. Personal Conduct & Role Modeling**
- Model respect, integrity, and enthusiasm at all times.
- Dress appropriately and act professionally.
- Promote fair play and positive attitudes.
- Dribbling
- Passing
- Shooting (form over distance)
- Basic footwork and defense
- Use games and drills that are age-appropriate and engaging.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a swim coach or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate athletes effectively.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in planning practices and events.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable; additional coaching certifications are a plus.
- A passion for swimming and a commitment to fostering a positive athletic environment.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-09-01
