We value, reward, and promote team members who are passionate about food, family, community and committed to doing a great job_ **SUMMARY** Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Wholesale/Receiving Desk Clerk ensures that the warehouse department is always performing in an effective and efficient manner, minding the Italian Centre Shop Ltd.’s policies and procedures for all actions and decisions. This position will support and adhere to the mission and values of Italian Centre Shop Ltd. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assists in handling a company's inventory; and keeps inventory operations smooth and efficient in the stock room, warehouse, or receiving department. - Receiving merchandise and ensuring the shipment content matches invoices and orders. - Verifies product and quantity accuracy on incoming orders. - Assist with scanning and receiving paperwork for items arriving and checking the products on Sharepoint if needed - Check items using tablet - Enter invoices/packing slips/shipping slips in the receiving log - Assist with updating wholesale product book - Provided backup coverage for wholesale order desk for breaks and vacations - Assisting in answering the main Italian Centre Shop phone lines during office hours while taking orders and directing calls - Inputting all incoming wholesale, restaurant, and intercompany orders. - Shipping and invoicing the orders based on delivery and pick-up dates. - Issuing credits. - Inputting invoice/checks/EFTs on the excel tracking sheets, updating credit cards on file - During slow seasons, call customers to inform them of new products, new price lists, and/or seasonal products arriving (for example, truffle season). - Assisting with opening mail and distributing it accordingly. - Informing customers of "shorts" if needed. - Continuously manages the customer database for accuracy during regular customer interactions or during slow times (updating customer information). - Processing account payments and credits. - Opening new customer accounts and sending proper information for new accounts. - Comparing statements to invoices and investigating any discrepancies. - Filing all copies of invoices and payments received. - Escalating any unresolved SMS issues to the IT consultant - Processing school orders for Food for Thought - Assisting with updating the counts for items that need to be ordered for schools and sending the orders in a timely manner. - Following all policies and procedures within the department. - Presenting and maintaining a safe work environment. - Communicating professionally and respectfully with all other departments within the store. - Promoting a positive company image by actively engaging with employees, customers, suppliers, and the community. - Representing ICS both in and out of the store. - Sharing their ideas with the manager - Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives. - Other duties as required. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** - High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred. **Experience** - 1 - 2 years in a customer service role - A minimum of one years' experience in a wholesale order-desk role. **Skills and Abilities** - Excellent telephone etiquette - Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written. - Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) - Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image. - Working independently with little direct supervision. - Having a well-balanced concern for both tasks and people. - Having a genuine concern for the needs of customers. - Exceptional organizational skills; prioritizing tasks. - Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and typing). - Product knowledge is an asset. **WORKING CONDITIONS** - Required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, evenings, and holidays. - Required at times to work with challenging customers and/or situations. - Exposed to hot and cold environments. - Exposed to loud noises and moving equipment. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** - Long periods of sitting, standing, and being in front of the computer - Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. - Manual and repetitive tasks.
