It’s a key ingredient that gives strength to concrete so that it doesn’t crack, ensuring buildings and infrastructure remain strong and stable for years to come. **Join our team **AGR Rebar is currently seeking a machine operator. **Here’s what you need to know about the role**: - Full-time, permanent position; - Day shift, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; - Starting salary at $20.06$/h. (3-12 months: $22.17, 12-24 months: $24.29, 24-36 months: $25.34, +36 months: $26.39) **What we offer**: - Benefits package (medical, dental, etc); - Retirement Savings Plan; - Free employee assistance program; - Friendly and casual environment. - Physical Activity Reimbursement: $600 annually for physical activities to promote health and wellness; **Here are the main responsibilities for this machine operator role in Kitchener**: - Operate machines safely and be aware of risks and procedures involved when working in a rebar shop; - Operating bender machine within the production plant; - Safely loading and unloading trucks, stacking materials safely where they belong and by maintaining a clean organized work area; - Work on machines cutting and bending rebar; - Clean machines and work areas; - Regular inspection of machines prior to the start of shift, immediately identifying any machinery irregularity and reporting directly to the maintenance technician to reduce the cost/risk of machinery downtime; - Act in compliance with AGF’s Health & Safety policies following the Occupational Health & Safety Act. - Other duties as assigned; - 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing; - Basic math/measurement skills (an asset); - Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment; - Ability to work physically - lift/move up to 50lbs; - Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work; - Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week **Benefits**: - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Store discount - Wellness program Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Evening shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Kitchener, ON N2B 3G1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - overhead crane: 1 year (required) Work Location: In person
