**TEAM LEAD - MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTION SUPPORT WORKERS**

Bellwood Health Services, part of the Edgewood Health Network, is a nationally recognized, accredited Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Centre, with a 35-year history of serving Canadians from across the country. Bellwood is currently recruiting for **a Team Lead** for our **Mental Health & Addiction Support Workers.** This is an exciting opportunity to join a seasoned, interprofessional team that is focused on quality care, by using best practice treatment, teamwork and respect.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addiction Support Workers (MHASW) the MHASW Team Lead is a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct client care, actively participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, and supporting the coordination and delivery of operational and organizational needs at Bellwood Health Services.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the MHASW team both individually and on a team basis
- Facilitating and reinforcing Support Worker’s involvement in the client and family treatment experience
- Maintain a therapeutic environment conducive to clients engaging in productive patterns of living
- Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and policies in conjunction with management as it relates to Support Workers; ensure the MHASW team follows existing policies and procedures
- Assist staff in promoting self-directed learning and in achieving and maintaining professional standards
- Assist staff with planning, organizing, and maintaining required supplies, equipment, and physical facilities within the building
- Assist with monthly staffing schedule to ensure adequate staff coverage for delivery of client care
- Supports the identification of growth and development opportunities of Support Workers and providing this feedback to the MHASW Manager
- Assist with and participate in educational sessions and activities to support MHASW staff growth and development
- Perform daily Support Workers roles and responsibilities as outlined on shift duty lists and as assigned by the MHASW Manager
- Liaise with maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure all Bellwood Health Services storage areas, office, and classroom areas are clean and well maintained on an ongoing basis
- Maintain current C.P.R.
- Is attentive to and intervenes on any client safety issues that are observed
- Adheres to the behaviours outlined in our policies and procedures that promote client safety
- Other duties as assigned

The position is part of the IAMAW bargaining unit.
