**Tell me about the job**

The People & Pay Coordinator will provide a support role by touching on several aspects of people and payroll management. The position will contribute, among other things, to the integrity of HR data, recruitment process, new employee onboarding, data analysis & reporting, training and development and will be responsible for the payroll of all our 140 employees. In addition, the incumbent will be called upon to advise managers on certain personnel management issues and will be the contact person to answer all employee’s questions. Finally, the HR Coordinator will participate in various projects that fall under the responsibility of the SVP HR.

**Human Resources**
- Carry out the processes of opening and updating employee files (physical and electronic), overseeing the data entry processes, and ensuring the protection and integrity of employee databases.
- Assist in the full cycle recruitment process, partnering proactively with the hiring manager weekly on open requisitions. (Background checks, offers, onboarding sessions, etc)
- Maintain and enhance current reporting deliverables while exploring new and innovative ways to report and examine HR data.
- Be the first/main point of contact for employees (benefits, vacation, payroll, etc.)
- Participate in the STD/LTD management, all leave of absence management, attendance management and return to work from leave.
- Assist HR Generalist in performance management programs.
- Participate in the organization of Company events.
- Draft correspondence such as offer letters, job letters all while ensuring a 24-hour SLA for all correspondence.
- Remain up to date with all regulatory, compliance and employment standard activities across Canada and ensure eStruxture is compliant.

**Payroll**
- Processing the bi-weekly payroll for close to 140 employees
- Verification and auditing of the accuracy of payroll information and that all relevant documents are in order
- Process all forms of other compensation or deductions (bonuses, severance pay, taxes, workers' health and safety requirements, VRSP, CCQ).
- Training of hourly workers on input of hours into Day force.

**Working Conditions**

The role has standard working conditions, currently in a hybrid environment (office and home-based) with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. Occasional travel to sites may be required on occasion.

Experience
- 2-3 years experience in Human Resources.
- Processing payroll for various Canadian provinces
- Full cycle recruitment experience*
- Experience in a unionized environment*

Education/Certification/Designation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
- Payroll certification*

Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.
- Comfortable with a changing, fast-paced, startup environment.
- Familiar with payroll regulations
- Analytical mind with good data analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrate professionalism and discretion
- Demonstrate rigor and attention to detail
- Bilingual, spoken and written (French and English)*

Technical Skills/Knowledge
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems, strong ability with MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint, Gmail, Exc
