**Position Information**:
This position is with the Champlain Regional Stroke Network (CRSN) and supports the operations of the Stroke Prevention Clinic (SPC).

The CRSN is one of 11 stroke networks in Ontario. Regional stroke networks are a part of the Ontario Stroke System and are accountable for the leadership, development, implementation and coordination of stroke care within their region and the provision of stroke care based on best practices and evidence. The CRSN is a key healthcare partner supporting coordination of stroke care throughout the Champlain LHIN and across all points in the stroke care continuum.

The role of the SPC is to ensure that individuals who are at high risk for stroke receive evidence-based care founded on best practices. Stroke Prevention Clinics provide an integrated, comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to stroke prevention. Their main objectives are to reduce delays and inefficiencies in risk factor management of high-risk patients and to facilitate timely access to interventions.**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, 8 hour shifts.

**Basic Requirements**:

- Two (2) years of community college or diploma or certificate in office administration or secretarial studies;
- Minimum two (2) years related experience;
- Intermediate Word, Intermediate Excel, Intermediate PowerPoint and Intermediate Access;
- Keyboarding at 45 words per minute;
- Proficiency in conducting Internet searches;
- Experience in minute taking;
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team;
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize, organize and work independently;
- Excellent general office and coordination skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and busy environment;
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills required to deal with unexpected situations and issues;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).

Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in health care;
- Research and evaluation experience;
- Successful completion of TOH medical terminology self-directed learning program or certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution.
