Security Officer

**Job description - Security Officers Casino & Hotel**

Our team is growing We’re currently looking for experienced Security Officers to join one of the best teams in Calgary Working at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino, you will gain valuable crime prevention knowledge and experience in a unique and exciting environment that will further prepare you for a career in law enforcement.

In house and external training opportunities in security law, note taking, Pressure Point Control Tactics / Defence Tactics Threat Pattern Recognition, and recurrent first aid / CPR are available.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reports to the Manager, Security & Surveillance, Assistant Security Manager or Security Supervisor on shift.
- Enforces age / access provisions within the casino
- Conducts patrols to ensure the safety of patrols and protection of assets
- Provides the Best Customer Service in Calgary to all of our guests
- Responds to emergencies and medical calls
- Enforces the Trespass to Premises Act and Criminal Code
- Liaises with the Calgary Police Service, the Calgary Fire Department, EMS and other emergency providers
- **Minimum of 2+ years of recent Security Officer experience required. Recent gaming experience within Canada or an international location preferred.**:

- A clear Calgary Police Service/ RCMP Security Clearance, with no criminal convictions or pending charges within the court system.
- AGLC Certificates including Anti Money Laundering, Deal Us in Casino Staff Training (Phase 1 & 2), ProTect & ProServe are required
- Must have a valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C & AED or higher
- Post-secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience would be considered an asset
- Defence Tactics Threat Pattern Recognition (formerly PPCT), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, and/or handcuffing training preferred
- Computer proficiency in MS Office & other windows-based programs
- Possess a high level of honesty and integrity, with adherence to high standards, methods, and procedures.
- Knowledge of AGLC policies & procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment

**We are currently hiring for the following shifts/rotations**:

- Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 1800 to 0500hrs**:

- Casual - Nights (No day Shifts) 1800 start with end time between 0200-0500hrs Please Note**:_**Casual Staff must be able to provide availability a minimum of 2 weeks prior for scheduling.**_

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 30 per week
