**YOUR ROLE**

As a Risk Management Specialist you will ensure the GroupHEALTH Family of Companies’ (GHFoC) operational risk and control frameworks, policies, standards and procedures are understood and used effectively to manage operational risk across the enterprise. This includes working collaboratively with all lines of businesses and divisions to identify, measure, monitor and mitigate operational risk. You will promote a positive risk management culture within GHFoC while acting as a contact/escalation point between risk management, the business and various stakeholders. This role can be remote or hybrid from one of our offices locations.

**YOUR IMPACT**
- Supports risk programs/frameworks, projects & initiatives to ensure risks are appropriately managed and mitigated. Programs include but are not limited to Operational Risk Register, Enterprise Risk Register, risk reporting processes, and education programs oversight.
- Leads the development of new risk programs, stay informed on risk management best practices and principles, and drive enhancements to current programs.
- Provides analysis, monitoring, and challenge to identify areas for improvement and remediation by business units in order to support a sound operational environment.
- Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders, evaluates new operating models and internal controls.
- Provides oversight and reporting on business continuity plans (BCP), business impact analysis (BIA)
- Communicate assessment results, gaps and recommendations, improvement opportunities and action plans to management on a regular basis.
- Gathers and compiles data related to risk from internal and external resources.
- Assist in the execution of Risk Framework monitoring, reporting and governance/escalation.
- Foster a strong risk culture within the organization, working closely with business unit leaders and senior management.
- Assist with continuous improvement of risk programs, processes and policies.
- Drafts and delivers reports and presentations outlining findings, identifying and explaining potential risks, and recommending solutions.

**WHAT TO EXPECT**

Within 3 Months
- Become familiar with GHFoC core operating philosophies including weekly planners, regular leadership meetings, etc.
- Conduct 1-on-1 “getting to know you” meetings with all members of our OpRisk Representatives/Management Team and other key leaders across GHFoC to gain an overall understanding of the GHFoC’s business model and operating structure
- Become familiar with key stakeholders within the GHFoC, its parent company Munich Re, and key strategic business partners
- Familiarize yourself with GHFoC Strategic Business plans and develop a high-level understanding of the company’s products, services, and core business operations
- Complete the first 2 of 4 CEBS training modules to gain a better understanding of the group benefits industry
- Become familiar with risk management processes at GHFoC
- Familiarize yourself with the GHFoC OpRisk and Enterprise Risk programs and processes

Within 6 Months
- Assume responsibility for execution of the GHFoC OpRisk Management programs, including management of OpRisk register, chairing OpRisk Committee, and submitting reports to Munich Re
- Assume responsibility for OpRisk educational program
- Assist Chief Privacy and Risk Officer in maintenance of Enterprise Risk Register
- Complete last 2 of 4 CEBS training modules

Within 12 Months
- Attain your RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional accreditation (if not attained yet)

**THIS IS YOU**
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or industry-related area required.
- At least 3 years of risk management experience within the financial services industry.
- Certified Internal Auditor or/and Certified Risk Management Professional
- Sound knowledge of risk management processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks.
- Understanding of the clearing business and knowledge of operational functions and processes.
- Sound knowledge of risk management processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks.
