Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the Greenstone Mine water treatment plant. This position will include monitoring operational performance and adjusting as necessary, testing, analyzing, and reporting.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**: Carry out operator rounds and adjust operating controls and reagents to efficiently operate the plant within the established parameters to achieve water quality targets. Operate and monitor all water treatment plant parameters in accordance with the standard operating procedures and as directed by your supervisor. Interact with maintenance personnel and other stakeholders to maintain and operate the plant efficiently and safely. Carry out workplace safety inspections, follow site safety protocols and the site health and safety program. Be a champion of GGM’s Safety Leadership Culture. Carry out bench scale laboratory testing to confirm / refine operating parameters and carry out trouble shooting activities as necessary. Monitor operating supplies, prepare reagents, and carry out other checks / activities as requested. Operate the plant in a manner that is consistent with good operating practices with the necessary due care and attention and report malfunctions to your supervisor. Prepare and document all treatment facility data and submit daily operator reports.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION High school diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) or combination of education and pertinent work-related experience. Prior experience in an industrial setting and knowledge of control systems. A minimum 2 years of experience in water treatment plants and or understanding of water treatment processes is an asset. Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset.
LOCATION This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
