Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, the Mine Technician is responsible for technical activities related to the ongoing development and production of the open pit mine.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**: Provide Mine Operations with accurate field control based off engineered surveys. Assist Drill and Blast crew with drill hole design and drill pattern preparation. Complete drill and blast designs/layouts and tie-ins. Maintain accurate as-built models of active pit & dump areas. Assist with month end survey reconciliation work and maintain accurate month end records. Ensure mine plans are executed to meet operation needs. Assist Ore Control personnel as required. Contribute to short range planning (i.e., daily/weekly), within areas of expertise.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION Completion of a Mining Technologist Diploma program or a Degree Program with relevant fields from a recognized post-secondary institution. Minimum 1 years of experience in open pit or underground mining projects. Experience with mine engineering software would be considered an asset. Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS and proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Possession of a valid driver's license
LOCATION
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
