Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mining Technologies Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, the Mining Technology Specialist will lead the implementation of the digital mine strategy (mine dispatch system, tele-remote drilling, communication, etc.) and ensure the proper functionality through the mining cycle.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**: Provide leadership in the implementation of the digital mine strategy. Provide technical expertise associated with the deployment, configuration, testing, verification, validation and on-going support of all associated systems and technologies. Work in close collaboration with IT around all related digitalization areas including integration, infrastructure, communications, reporting, software procurement, license management and support. Engage with key business unit representatives to understand current and future business requirements and support needs. Evaluate how available and developing technologies may improve operating effectiveness and efficiency. Engage with vendors to understand their product development strategies and plans. Ensure proper project management and gated methodology to ensure the project delivers on scope, cost and time.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION Proven experience in defining, deploying and implementing, safety enhancing, value adding, mine control and technologies in an open pit mine is desirable. Demonstrated competence in all aspects of the scoping, execution and assessment of structured proof of concept type programs to aid in the definition, selection or leverage of leading practice operating technology. A knowledge of open pit mobile mining equipment and control solutions. Strong data analysis skills. Proven ability to work closely and collaboratively with IT. Valid drivers license
LOCATION
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis (4/3 or 5/2).
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
