The CIBA Manager - Canada serves as one of the Company’s consumer insights and analytics experts. Reporting to the Director of Consumer Insights and Analytics, the CIBA Manager is responsible for the identification, communication and integration of consumer insights and analytics for the Canada market.
Working with the Canada Marketing Commercialization team, they will lead the development and actioning of insights to establish market winning growth strategies for SCJ brands. They must understand the consumer-packaged goods industry, relevant data sources, with expertise in strategic vendors and demonstrate a passion for our consumers. They will interact frequently with senior stakeholders, requiring strategic capabilities, strong influencing and communication skills, and exceptional collaboration. As a member of the Canada Marketing Leadership Team they will contribute positively to the overall strategic direction in Canada and team culture.
**Position Summary**:
- The CIBA Manager is expected to lead all insights engagements (consumer and analytics) including vendor partnerships that drive Canada NACB business growth.
- Major areas of focus within CIBA are:
- As a key member of the Canadian Marketing Leadership Team, develop brand strategies rooted in a deep understanding of consumer needs (Jobs To Be Done, Attitudes & Usage, Brand Health Tracking, etc)
- Deploy predictive analytics to deliver increased ROIs across the P&L through improved planning, execution and measurement of marketing activities (Marketing Mix, Forecasting, Assortment, Pricing).
- Lead the development of reporting and communication of in-market business performance (market share, business drivers, competitive intelligence & macro trends).
- Partner with local marketing leadership and USA based category leads on the development of insightful local communications.
- Partner with NA and local leadership on the development and local execution of innovation, including pre-market sizing and in-market performance.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development and execution of category/brand learning agendas for strategic initiatives in collaboration with local Marketing & NA CIBA.
- Manage the design, execution and communication of action-focused insight and analytic engagements to drive business results.
- Lead the identification and communication of macro consumer trends, category trends, and economic/social trends in support of delivering SCJ market share growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (across NA) to establish a reporting framework to democratize data insights for the entire organization, including the development of training materials.
- Embed the understanding of consumer jobs to be done, attitudes/behaviors and product usage/benefits into the development of brand and innovation strategies.
- Pilot new agile research methods that enable SCJ to quickly identify and action emerging consumer trends.
- Contribute to the growth of our brands by improving our marketing effectiveness. Partner with cross-functional team (Marketing, MIM, Finance, Sales, etc ) to develop comprehensive Marketing Measurement strategies that will enable SCJ growth. Including test and learn opportunities.
- Identify, manage and maximize strategic vendor partnerships to solve complex business issues.
- Evaluate new and faster methodologies in the market research industry.
**Required Skills / Experience / Competencies**:
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum 7+ years in marketing, analytics and/or consumer insights within Canada
- Demonstrated deep understanding of consumer goods industry, with expertise in CPG data sources (NielsenIQ, Circana, Numerator, etc.).
- Ability to synthesize data & insights across multiple sources of information
- Proficient in determining root cause factors from data, experience, and judgment.
- Ability to enrich our understanding of consumer motivations and behaviors to develop winning marketing plans.
