The Cook position is responsible for assisting in the production of a specific department within the kitchen. The position is responsible for assisting in maintaining Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures as they relate to the kitchen. Ensures all completed menu items meet or exceed posted standards for presentation. Ensures department is clean, safe and waste is kept a minimum.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintains standards for food preparation, quality and presentation
- Adheres to standardized recipes and specifications
- Ensures that work station opening and closing procedures are carried out
- Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Reports any deficiencies of equipment or product to Chef
- Operates kitchen equipment and conducts self with safety in mind
- When required, works dish machine to properly and safely clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and glassware.
- Follows all company policies, regulations, and standards as set by the Company. Including coming to work on time and in proper attire manner
- Checks supplies and prep lists and ensures all items are prepped in a timely fashion.
- Replenishes service lines as needed. Restocks and preps station for the next shift.
- Make sure the line is clean as you go, sweep and mop at the end of your shift, throw the garbage/boxes out, put away the linen into laundry and line is wiped and sanitized.
- Understand FIFO and maintain Inventory level
- Listens to customer complaints, suggest and resolve complaints.

**SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIRED**
- 1-2 years culinary experience pursuing Red Seal Certification or equivalent
- 4-6 years total culinary department experience
- Flexible and an ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide coaching and mentoring to associates
- Neat, well-groomed and professional
- Multitasking and detail oriented

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
