Responsibilities of a Mortgage Assistant:
- File Preparation and Management:
- Assist in organizing and preparing mortgage files for processing.
- Ensure all required documents and information are collected, verified, and properly filed.
- Track and manage the progress of each mortgage file, ensuring timely completion of each stage.
- Document Review and Verification:
- Review mortgage documents for accuracy and completeness, verifying information provided by clients and third parties.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Communicate with clients to request missing or additional documentation as needed.
- Communication and Customer Support:
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, providing updates and answering questions about the mortgage process.
- Coordinate communication between clients, lenders, underwriters, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the mortgage process.
- Data Entry and Maintenance:
- Accurately input and update client information in the company's mortgage processing system.
- Maintain accurate and current records throughout the lifecycle of each mortgage file.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Schedule appointments and meetings for mortgage team members with clients and third parties.
- Coordinate with appraisers, title companies, and other service providers to ensure timely delivery of required services.
- Compliance and Quality Control:
- Follow company guidelines and regulatory requirements to ensure high standards of compliance.
- Assist in quality control by conducting periodic checks on mortgage files to prevent errors or inconsistencies.
- General Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance, including preparing correspondence, filing, and handling incoming calls.
- Assist mortgage specialists with additional tasks and projects as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with mortgage or financial services preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage processing software (if applicable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $16.55-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
