Our client, an education company, is hiring several part-time **Academic Tutors** specializing in:
**Position Details**:

- Part-time, in-person position with an expected workload of 4-8 hours per week.
- Conveniently situated near Lonsdale Quay, just a short distance from the Seabus
- Flexible schedule, including after school hours (late afternoon and evening) and/or occasional weekends.
- Compensation will be competitive based on experience and starts at $25-30 per hour and upwards, along with performance-based bonuses and perks.

**Requirements**:
Math:

- **Elementary math tutors** should have a strong understanding of fundamental math concepts, such as fractions, decimals, geometry, and basic algebra.
- **High school math tutors** should be knowledgeable in advanced topics like algebra, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus.

Language / Literacy:

- **Elementary literacy and language tutors**will have a strong background in literacy education and a passion for helping students develop essential reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- **High school literacy and language tutors** should possess knowledge of advanced topics such as literature analysis, composition, research skills, and language conventions.

Science:
**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-to-one tutoring sessions to improve students' mathematical, language and/or science skills.
- Utilize various teaching methods and materials to engage students and enhance the learning experience.
- Monitor student progress and adjust lessons accordingly to ensure academic advancement.

**Qualifications**:

- Pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 3-5+ years of experience within traditional classroom teaching, tutoring, or other educational roles.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport with students by utilizing patience, empathy, and effective communication in adapting to their unique needs and learning styles.
- Experience supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, anxiety, developmental delays, or other special needs would be considered an asset.
- *Note: Background checks and references will be required.
