Our client, an education company, is hiring part-time online Academic Tutors specializing in:

  • Upper Elementary math and literacy subjects (Gr. 4-7), and/or
  • High school-level math, science, and language courses (Gr See the full list of subjects below.

Position Details:

  • Part-time, online position with an expected workload of 2-4 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule, including after school hours (late afternoon and evening) and/or occasional weekends.
  • Compensation will be competitive based on experience and starts at $26 per hour along with performance-based bonuses and perks.

Requirements:

Math:

  • Elementary math tutors should have a strong understanding of fundamental math concepts, such as fractions, decimals, geometry, and basic algebra.
  • High school math tutors should be knowledgeable in advanced topics like algebra, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus.

Language / Literacy:

  • Elementary literacy and language tutors will have a strong background in literacy education and a passion for helping students develop essential reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • High school literacy and language tutors should possess knowledge of advanced topics such as literature analysis, composition, research skills, and language conventions.

Science:

  • High school science tutors should demonstrate expertise in advanced subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, with an emphasis on the scientific method, experimentation, and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one tutoring sessions to improve students' mathematical, language and/or science skills.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and materials to engage students and enhance the learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust lessons accordingly to ensure academic advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 3-5+ years of experience within teaching, tutoring, or other educational roles.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant subject(s) and best practices for learning related content.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport with students by utilizing patience, empathy, and effective communication in adapting to their unique needs and learning styles.
  • Experience supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, anxiety, developmental delays, or other special needs would be considered an asset.
