Kitchener, Canada Eagleview Construction Full time

Eagleview Construction is a full-service design and build renovation contractor serving Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and surrounding areas.

We are committed to providing clients with the highest quality renovations and construction at the best possible price. As a local business, active community members and homeowners ourselves, we understand just how big a decision it is to invest in a renovation project.

Due to increased business levels and growth of our current project portfolio, we are seeking a Lead Carpenter that should be able to grow as we grow based in or near Kitchener. This role will allow Eagleview to be more flexible and responsive to our clients’ needs, while also managing stronger cost controls on projects.

Feel like you’re the right person for the job?
- Do you have more than 5 years experience in the world of residential construction, 2 of which are in renovations?
- Do you have trade certification in carpentry, ideally a Red Seal **_or equivalent experience_**?
- Are you a positive and clear communicator?
- Do people see you as a person that takes pride in everything you do and never cuts corners?
- Are you interested in growing and developing your skills with a great company?
- Do you identify and solve problems quickly and creatively?

As a critical component of our team and what makes our business successful you will be responsible for initial project commencement with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, through demolition, construction and finishing, to project finalization. Your role will encompass a wide array of tasks and responsibilities dealing with residential construction and renovation projects that are never the same twice. You will act as the face of Eagleview and, as such, should represent the business professionally and respectably always with all stakeholders. Your role initially will be mostly manual carpentry (framing, finishing) & labour oriented and daily project supervision for a handful of more junior team members and sub-trades. There is a potential for growth in the future.

Your role will enable Eagleview to complete more projects at a more consistent quality level as well as minimize delays in the construction process. You are able to develop professional rapport with all stakeholders (clients, vendors, staff, and sub-contractors) in a manner that helps build our professional brand in the competitive Kitchener construction market.

YOU:

- We’d love you to come with some sort of construction-oriented diploma or trade certification, but we’re open to people from other backgrounds with relevant experience and the right attitude to fit our culture.
- Confident working safely and effectively with both your brain (interpreting plans and doing material take-offs, scheduling, project reporting, and measuring) as well as your hands (framing, demolition, finishing).
- Enthusiasm, professionalism, and punctuality with a willingness to learn new skills and new ideas.
- Able to multi-task; stay organized and prioritize.
- Able to work independently, as well as patiently teach less experienced team members.
- The ability to work on projects and tasks of various difficulty and duration.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English with writing and speaking.
- Comfortable with computers and construction software (we use Evernote and Buildertrend).
- Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude; able to work effectively in all situations.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with a relatively clear driving record.

REWARDS:
We offer a competitive compensation plan consisting of a base salary, performance-based bonus structure, monthly cell phone and vehicle allowance and a Health Spending Account. We are actively support individuals that wish to further their education as well. We also offer a place where you can challenge yourself and grow as we grow, and opportunities present themselves.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
