White Rabbit Treatment Homes is a Foster Care Agency that has been providing family based Foster Care programs for Children's Aid Societies in Ontario for 15 years. We are currently interviewing Foster Parents/Live in Caregivers with either their own home or who need to be provided with a home to provide foster care for up to 4 children/youth. All of our Foster Parents/Live in Caregivers receive regular training, support and supervision to enable them to ensure all youth in their care are safe, healthy and secure in their environment. Foster Parents/Live in Caregivers are provided with 24 hour on-call support, scheduled time off, respite and generous compensation.
**JOB DETAILS**
Experience working with children and youth displaying difficult and challenging behaviors is an asset. All applicants must have their own transportation, the ability to provide a vulnerable sector police clearance and must participate in a detailed home study process. **POSITION**
Live in CYW/Youth Mentor/ Foster Parent to Children and Youth (single, couple or partners).
**SUMMARY**
White Rabbit Treatment Homes operates Family based and parent modeled treatment homes for children and youth with behavioral, social emotional and psychological challenges. Seeking Primary care giver(s) for 4 bed homes (house provided with additional on-site CYW support) or in own home for one or more children and youth. 24/7/365 support, respite provided and a generous tax free per diem. An exciting opportunity to help shape lives.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Teach and role model appropriate, socially adaptive behaviors and coping strategies.
- Teach life skills and motivate youth to engage through interaction and modelling.
- Provide leadership and supervise youth to ensure a safe, clean and comfortable home environment.
- Completion of daily logs and report concerns as required.
- Administer and monitor medications and attend appointments as required.
- Liaise with community partners and those invested in the children’s lives.
- Attend training and professional development as required.
- Follow policies and procedures and direction provided.
- Maintain a clean and organized home providing nutritious meals and a warm, welcoming environment.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**:
- Experience working with children, youth or adults with emotional, physical, social and behavioral challenges would be an asset.
- Strong behavioral management skills.
- Must be able to utilize excellent decision-making skills and be able to effectively solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships.
- Participate in assessments and counselling.
- Be adaptable/flexible to change and unplanned situations that may arise.
- Possess positive attitude, the desire to help, and a genuine care and concern for children/youth.
- Ability to maintain a busy schedule, be organized and plan ahead.
- Documentation required-G-class driver’s licence, driver’s abstract, vulnerable sector police clearance, CAS check, Medical.
Please note that SAFE home study and all provided necessary training (CPR/1st Aid, TCI, Asist) to be completed with successful applicants.
