The Director will, within the context of Tsuut'ina culture and in accordance with the tri-partite agreement and the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, direct, develop and facilitate the delivery of the programs and services of the Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family to those residing on the Tsuut'ina Nation, and to Tsuut'ina Nation Members. The Director is responsible for overall agency management; program and service development and review; personnel and fiscal management; and public relations liaison. The Director is also responsible for ensuring that the Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family Services Society mandate is carried out and in accordance with the Tsuut'ina Nation - Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family Services Society - ISC-Alberta CYFE Agreement.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Directly supervises the Generalist Supervisor and Administrative Supervisor, including the hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of employees.
- Review and Approve funding submissions, agency service plans, and evaluation documents.
- Ensures that programs are consistent with and support the Tsuut’ina Social and Cultural context.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture, trends, and appropriate models of services.
- Participates in the preparation and coordination of the annual service budget for recommendations to the Board of Directors.
- Oversees the expenditure of the budget within approval limits.
- Ensures accurate content and maintenance of the agency’s records, reports, and client files according to Federal and Provincial standards.
- Establishes, evaluates, and implements policies, guidelines, procedures, and standards of performance, workload distribution, and program delivery to ensure a high level of quality services and professional performance.
- Monitors programs and performance against established internal and external service standards. Working knowledge of agreements related to the agency: Tri-Partite Agreement, Funding Agreements, Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act, and related legislations.
- Acts on behalf of the Board and represents TNCFSS at committees, working groups, and community events as assigned, develops linkages with the Treaty 7 First Nations context, including both on and off-reserve communities and their service representation.
- Serves as Board of Directors liaison and facilitates meetings as required or requested.
- Other responsibilities as determined in consultation with the Board of Directors.
- Reviews, completes, assigns, and oversees the Delegation of Authority for Generalist Supervisor, and Generalist Caseworkers as per CYFEA.
- Create strong lines of communication with management team, staff, Board of Directors, Administrator, Head Chief and Minor Chiefs, Federal/Provincial government representatives, and various programs/vendors to provide quality service delivery.
- Provide expert specialized advice, consultation and support to the Management/Supervisory team, Board of Directors, Administrator, and Head Chief and Minor Chiefs.
- Review, revise, implement and monitor business/strategic planning.
- Work within allocated resources for budget and program.
- Ongoing reviews and monitoring of expenditures in accordance with the budget and/or contracts.
- Policy review, development and implementation.
- Perform all duties in a manner consistent with The Society’s Mission/Vision Statement.
- Monthly reporting and data collection of statistics regarding number of families served and level of service.
- Respect and protect the rights of children, youth and families, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and freedom from discrimination, and abuse.
- Submit clear, concise and timely documentation/case notes and reports when requested.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Desired Education, Experience, and Training:

- Bachelor of Social Work is preferred, or a related human services degree.
- 5 (five) years of experience in a human services area.
- Delegation Certification Training.
- Signs of Safety Training.
- Family Group Conferencing Training.
- Contract Management Training.
- Conflict Resolution Training.
- Working Knowledge:

- Knowledge and understanding of the Tsuut’ina Nation Culture and Language.
- Extensive knowledge of Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, Enhancement Policy Manual and regulations.
- Knowledge of other relevant legislation (PSECA, DECA, etc...)
- Knowledge, understanding and acceptance of community cultural protocols and practices.
