**JOB SUMMARY**

The Legislative Procedures Community Engagement Facilitator works in collaboration with the LPTS Department with technical duties related to Tsuut’ina Government Initiatives and the Tsuut’ina Legislative Process. The Community Engagement Facilitator performs a variety of functions both independently and in a team environment.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Works in collaboration with the Tsuut’ina Nation Government, Senior Management, Staff and Citizens to obtain and distribute information for Tsuut’ina Legislation.
- Gather and disseminates technical information required for LPTS Department, such as presentations and information packages.
- Develop presentations for community education to host law and information sessions for Citizens, Management, Staff, Industry, Youth, Students and be able to provide a level of understanding of laws and policy for professional or personal use.
- Provides administrative and facilitation support for the Tsuut’ina Legislative Process, prepares literature, coordinates postings and print media.
- Communicates orally and in writing to Head Chief and Minor Chiefs, Managers, technicians, lawyers, staff, committee/board members and to related individuals, as well as forwarding documents and correspondence.
- Performs research by collecting data from focus groups, meeting, surveys, International, Federal and Provincial Legislation etc. for Legislative Documents.
- Provides facilitation support for LPTS Director and Senior Management.
- Prepares meeting rooms and responsible for ensuring that presentation equipment is working and available.
- Assists in the development of meeting strategies and other methods for delivery and education of Tsuut’ina Legislation and Tsuut’ina Government Initiatives.
- Must attend Tsuut’ina Nation Meetings as directed, as well as any conferences, workshops, or any other meetings as directed by the LPTS Director.
- Communicates orally and in writing to Head Chief and Minor Chiefs, Managers, technicians, lawyers, staff, board members and to related individuals as well as forwarding documents and correspondence.
- Works with the LPTS Department to maintain ratified legislation availability for public records in consideration of delivery on and off-reserve.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Desired Education, Experience and Knowledge:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field or specialized training.
- Facilitation training.
- At least two (2) years of experience working with a First Nation.
- Knowledge about Treaty No 7, Treaty Relations with Canada, Jurisdictional Authority of Tsuut’ina.
- Must have some knowledge of Tsuut’ina Nation legislative process, culture, language and history.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Personal Attributes:

- Ability to facilitate effective and accurate communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with Head Chief and Minor Chiefs, Senior Management, the Legislative Procedures Technical Services Department, and the public.
- Strong editing, writing, compositional, communication and research skills.
- Be able to accept constructive criticism and take direction.
- Have an analytical mind.
- Reliable, respectful, honest, and willing to learn.
- Multitask and able to work in stressful situations and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working in close collaboration with different portfolios and Nation Citizens and ensure that, so far as possible, legislation gives effect to the intended policy and is clear and understandable.
- Pay meticulous attention to detail and have a clear systematic approach to problems.

- Valid Driver’s License and must have own reliable transportation.

- Must be willing to Travel and must hold a current valid credit card for travel purpose.
