**The Hotel Arts Group** **is currently seeking a Banquets and Events Chef, for our Banquets Kitchen**. This role will cover a 12-18month maternity contract with the potential of staying on full-time. This important team member will establish and maintain Hotel Arts role as the undeniable leader of culinary excellence in the hospitality industry in Calgary. In doing so, our guests and clients will have their banquet and event experience with us enhanced by exceptional food that is enticingly presented and exceeds their gustatory expectations.

The Chef de Cuisine, Banquets at Hotel Arts is responsible for, but not limited to:

- Overseeing all aspects of food preparation including menu planning, purchasing, and cost control.
- Providing training, coaching, and mentorship for all staff in the Back of the House.
- Ensures all Back of House areas are pristine and all equipment is well maintained.
- Nurtures relationships with employees, management, and guests.
- Evaluates all practices and processes to ensure efficiency and productivity of all Back of House operations.
- Works overtime when needed to ensure business needs are met.
- Maintains a great repour and relationship with vendors.
- Executes ad-hoc operational duties as needed.

**Job Requirements**:

- 2-5 years of Chef de Cuisine experience, preferably in Banquets.
- Previous experience in fast-paced hotel/restaurant environment.
- Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset.
- Must show creativity, and enthusiasm, have high energy levels, and be self-motivated.
- Must enjoy a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
- Must have proven ability in developing and training staff members.
- Clear ability to solve problems and find solutions.
- Flexible weekly schedule based on the demands of our clients (May include evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight periods as needed).
