**About Us**

A Niu Veterinary Hospital is located in the thriving City of Richmond, BC. We are a full-service veterinary hospital, providing around the clock animal care to our patients.

**Overview**

We are currently looking for an experienced, full-time Veterinary Assistant who is self-motivated, organized and patient-focused to join our growing team. The individual must be skilled and have industry knowledge to provide excellent care and service to our customers.

We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our clients and their pets, as well as the positive work environment we have created. We are looking for someone who is a dedicated team player and is passionate about animal care.

**Responsibilities**
- Handling appointment scheduling, medication refills, and client requests in person or over the phone.
- Process billing using different payment methods which including credit card, debit card, cash, and e-transfer.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and supplies are readily available.
- Perform laboratory tests and assist in collecting samples for analysis.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
- Communicate with pet owners about their animals' health and care instructions.
- Monitor and record vital signs and behavioral changes in animals.

**Qualifications**
- Strong understanding of animal care and handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Laboratory experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners
- Ability to work collaboratively with veterinary staff and clients
- Capable to lift up to 20kg
- Fluent in English is required
- Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred but not mandatory
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have valid Canadian working status to be eligible

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
