Well established pump manufacturer requires an **Order Processing, Inventory Control & Purchasing Specialist.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Enter and process orders within SAGE 300 ERP system
- Transfer inventory within ERP system
- Create cost batches. Record material usage. Maintain raw material spreadsheet in Excel
- Create work orders for shop floor manufacturing requirements
- Solicit quotes and place purchase orders for all outsourced components, raw materials, raw castings, job specific items (like electric motors and mechanical seals) and any/all other standard or special materials/components
- Digitally manage inventory, monitor reorder points and reorder quantities
- Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data. Resolve any inventory issues
- Source and qualify new vendors ensuring we have a robust network of suppliers
- Follow up with suppliers, anticipate shortages or delays and seek solutions
- Consult with Production Control on a regular basis and ensure products and materials required for upcoming production are on-hand in advance of production start dates
- Investigate and resolve issues pertaining to material/product received which are incorrect, damaged or rejected due to quality.
- Cost control. Implement strategies to reduce costs. Track price increases and communicate and negotiate cost changes as needed
- Communicate with and assist other teams and departments as necessary to ensure smooth and timely order completion
- Annual inventory count and reconciliation
- Build and maintain good supplier relationships
- Special projects as assigned by Manager
**Qualification Requirements**:
- Minimum 4 years experience in inventory, supply chain, and production control processes in a manufacturing environment
- Background in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control, Logistics, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Knowledge of casting processes is an asset
- Ability to read blueprints is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Preference given to those with experience using SAGE 300 ERP
- Strong analytical and query skills to investigate, comprehend and drive resolution of all aspects of material and supply chain issues
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and coordinate activities
- Team player attitude with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issues
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
**Working Conditions**:
- Occasional exposure to a machine shop environment with intermittent noise, dust, heat, and cold
- Occasional use of Personal Protection Equipment required (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, etc.)
