**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Shipping and Receiving Lead hand ensures seamless processing of outgoing shipments and incoming items. The Shipping and Receiving Lead hand understands the impact of the position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES**:

- Able to give direction and supervise the other Shipper/Receivers in the Department to ensure that daily responsibilities are addressed and completed
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
- Maintain filing of shipping documents.
- Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned.
- Create a daily shipment/receiving schedule
- Schedule daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers as required
- Ensure there is at least one person from Shipping/Receiving to Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and general shop supplies.
- Scanning of fabrication parts to orders and organizing on a skid/work area.
- Ensure that Receiving Sorts, tags, marks and distributes incoming shipments in a timely manner.
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Follow current standards and procedures.
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
- Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries.
- Ensure and Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Make deliveries with a company vehicle as assigned.
- Notify purchasing of any stock outs and minimum levels
- Ensure that Shipping/Receiving Continually monitor the KANBAN inventory items in accordance with the KANBAN policy and procedures.
- Ensure the wire rope sign out sheets are being utilized properly by the service technicians and report any deficiencies to the Purchasing Manager.
- Ensure that parts are picked, tagged and scanned, if applicable, for jobs, as required from time to time.
- Ensure any movement of materials, in or out, are properly documented or scanned as required.
- Ensure that garbage receptacles are emptied in a timely manner, as required from time to time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Online shipping, tracking and receiving experience utilizing FedEx, UPS, Purolator and DHL.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
- 2 years experience in Shipping and Receiving role preferred.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments.
- Ability to weigh and measure items.
- Working knowledge of safe packing methods.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
