Bilingual Accounting Team Manager

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Montreal. The Team Manager - Operational Accounting is responsible for overseeing several areas of Operational Accounting including, but not limited to Inbound and Outbound Freight Accounting, Accounts Payable Vendor Management and Treasury. They are the liaison between Finance, internal stakeholders, and external service providers in these areas, and play a key role in facilitating communication and in month-end and year-end closing procedures. They oversee daily Treasury (cash disbursement) functions, is responsible for ensuring that all required financial accounting, reporting and sales tax deadlines are met.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all outbound freight payments, and reconciliation of all inbound freight invoices to costs entered in the Financial System
- Oversee the vendor creation process, including onboarding of new acquisitions
- Ensure timely generation and analysis of weekly and monthly departmental reports and resolve issues/discrepancies as required
- Oversee daily cash disbursement functions, including management of bank platform, payment creation and issuance, as well as all related reconciliations and reports
- Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close in areas of responsibility; ensure accuracy of accruals, variance analysis and account reconciliations
- Supervise and assist team, provide feedback and guide development

Qualifications:

- Self-starter, results driven, detail-oriented with excellent analytical, and problem solving skills
- Fluently bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive and professional demeanor; ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative skills: works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
- Must adapt well to change in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from an accredited University, CPA designation an asset
- Experience in operational accounting and team management, with minimum of 5 years of related work experience; experience in large organizations an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Excel and Access (an asset)
