As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne DALSA is recruiting for a Manufacturing Supervisor in Waterloo
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the direct supervision and management of staff.- Ensure that OHSA is followed and that employees are trained based on both the Act and DALSA H&S policies to ensure due diligence is met.- Responding to and addressing health and safety concerns of employees and finding ways to resolve those concerns.- Completing physical inspection of the department in order to identify and resolve any workplace hazards.- Ensuring that schedules are met.- Identification, planning and provision of comprehensive training for the associates to ensure an effective level of cross-training, and hence providing a flexible work-force.- Providing monthly reports of metrics that indicate the performance levels of the group.- Collecting, maintaining and providing access to data in a manner that supports product design, manufacturing process and customer support continuous improvement efforts.- Participating in lean Kaizens and ensuring lean practices/procedures are implemented and adhered to.- Providing support for all employees in the group.- Ability to motivate others to complete expected workload with high level of quality.- Consistent policy clarification and enforcement.- Ability to recognize performance issues or accomplishments and provide timely feedback.- Establishing trust and credibility with your team.- Participating in performance management/monitoring. This includes but is not limited to GOP preparation and mid and final year reviews.- Recruiting new associates as required ensuring that adequate training occurs to allow them to deliver quality products and fit into assigned teams.- Defining, managing and monitoring processes and procedures in keeping with the requirements of internal customers and management.- Defining, maintaining and monitoring inventory levels in supermarkets.- Participating in process reviews outside of manufacturing such as product obsolescence to ensure continuity of support commitments.- Participating in budget setting and manages against approved budgets.- Establishing daily metrics and drive internal improvement from the data collected. Escalating issues that are external to manufacturing cells. Very fast reaction required to deviations.- Effectively delegate workload needs as they arise.
**Requirements**:
- Graduate Electronic Engineering Technologist/Technician or Operational management program- Four plus years experience in related role, with experience in a supervisory position- Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.- Proven leadership qualities- Appreciation of problem solving approaches- Proficiency in Windows based office tools - Excel, Word and Database.- Working knowledge of BaaN and Aurum.- Product documentation structure knowledge- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
