Our accounting department is seeking an Accounting Manager, who will report to the Management Committee of the Firm.
**Major Responsibilities and Duties will include**:
- Prepares daily cash receipt deposits for incoming cheques to the Firm
- Prepares daily cash statements
- Updates daily bank reconciliation details in preparation for month-end bank reconciliation
- Prepares and processes month-end activities including journal entries, HST returns, cheque cancellation, various balance sheet accounts reconciliation and deposit accounts reconciliation
- Prepares monthly and year-end financial statements
- Assists the Treasurer in the review of monthly financial statements
- Identify and monitor financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecast
- Compiling and distributing reports, conducting internal audits and providing information to external auditors as required Assist with preparation, filing, and remittance of taxes
- Participate in budget preparation and analysis by ensuring accuracy and integrity of all the reports used for budget analysis
- Ad-hoc accounting activities resulting from any finance initiatives
- Prepare payroll and payroll remittances
- Track prepaid and accrued expenses and adjusted monthly as needed
- Assist in special projects, as needed
