**Nature of the work**:
The CLC Administration Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of a Community Learning Centre (CLC) at, and in collaboration with, Riverview Elementary, Beurling Academy, and Verdun Elementary. Reporting to principals at all schools and the Eastern Regional Director of schools, the Administration Officer is responsible for developing partnerships with Teaching and support staff, CEGEPs and universities, and local community partners, coordinating the CLC partnership committee and managing and monitoring the strategies, programs and activities at all three sites.

**Primary responsibilities**:

- Developing partnerships to support programs addressing academic enrichment, recreation and social service needs for students, parents and the community.
- Developing and maintaining favorable relationships with all stakeholders.
- Surveying and assessing school and community needs and assets.
- Identifying and assisting appropriate local community providers and government agencies to offer their services on site (including universities, CEGEPs, Adult Centres, SPVM, CIUSS, and community organizations).
- Working with teachers to develop projects and bring resources into classrooms and the schools.
- Developing, coordinating and facilitating implementation on parental and family involvement opportunities.
- Coordinating and facilitating the recruitment and supervision of facilitators and instructors.
- Meeting regularly with CLC Partnership Committee, school staff and appropriate community providers.
- Coordinating all lunch time, after school and evening activities and managing registration and payment for activities.
- Writing grants.
- Managing budgets.
- Mobilizing and attending various committees and community tables.
- Writing reports.
- Developing action plans and activities with new community partners.
- Developing evaluation frameworks and tools and overseeing annual evaluations of all CLC programs and activities including developing individualized evaluation strategies with each community partner.

**Additional Responsibilities**

The Administration Officer is required to work certain evenings to assure the success of the CLC workshops and attend meetings. Occasional weekend presence at school-related events may be requested.

**Human Resource Management**

The Administration Officer is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and managing a range of stakeholders, including community partners, employees, volunteers and interns on multiple sites.

**Project and Program Management**

The Administration Officer is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing ongoing activities as well as developing special projects. This may include special pedagogical projects in classrooms, community engagement projects, lunchtime and after school activities, evening workshops for parents and families and summer projects with community partners. This includes managing all communications and promotion for projects and activities as well as registration processes.

**Grant Writing and Administration**

Writing and administering grants (i.e. Centraide, Entrepreneurship, Pearson Educational Foundation, Québec en Forme, School yard improvement, Jeunes Actifs, École Montréalais, Forum Jeunesse de l'île de Montréal, Inter-Action, RBC After School Projects, Keno Quebec, National Bank, One for Youth Grant, etc.) for the CLC and schools in collaboration with school staff and community partners.

**Committees**

The Administration Officer is expected to participate in committees and tables such as governing board, PPO, Home and School, CDSV, partnership tables (LBPSB and of other CLC partners). Meetings are held both during the day and evening.

**Communications**

The Administration Officer is responsible for coordinating and maintaining communication with all community partners, school administration and staff, parents and the CLC provincial resource team. These responsibilities included the writing monthly reports and newsletters, quarterly information registration booklets for CLC activities, as well as maintaining social media outlets.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate filed.

**Required competencies**
- Have superior communication skills (oral and written) in English and French.
- Have superior organization skills.
- Have a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships that enhance understanding, communication and co-operation.
- Have experience working with a variety of agencies and community groups.
- Have experience in managing budgets.
- Have experience in supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Have experience working in a public school setting or has knowledge about the public school system and southwest community.
