We are a busy **container drayage and port trucking company** seeking an experienced **Dispatch Supervisor** to manage all aspects of container pickups and drop-offs from the **Port of Vancouver terminals**. If you know the ins and outs of port logistics, container bookings, and coordinating drivers for time-sensitive hauls, we want you on our team.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- **Daily Dispatching**: Assign loads to drivers/owner-operators for **container pick-up and delivery** from Port of Vancouver terminals.
- **Container Bookings & Release Tags**: Arrange bookings with steamship lines, secure release tags, and ensure timely access to terminals.
- **Terminal Coordination**: Communicate with all Vancouver port terminals, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to schedule container movements.
- **Pickup & Drop-off Management**: Oversee container **pick-ups, drop-offs, and empty returns** while minimizing demurrage and detention charges.
- **Customs & Compliance**: Ensure compliance with CBSA, ACI, and eManifest requirements.
- **Chassis & Equipment Tracking**: Manage chassis allocation, availability, and maintenance schedules.
- **Load Tracking**: Monitor driver progress using dispatch systems, GPS tracking, and eModal updates.
- **Problem Solving**: Handle last-minute schedule changes, port congestion issues, and customer requests efficiently.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of BOLs, PODs, gate interchange reports, and customs clearance paperwork.
- **Team Supervision**: Lead dispatch staff, coordinate with operations, and ensure smooth driver communication.
- **Operational Efficiency**: Optimize routes to reduce empty miles and improve turnaround times.
- **Safety & Port Protocols**: Ensure all drivers follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and terminal access guidelines.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years of **dispatch experience in container drayage / port trucking**.
- Strong understanding of **Port of Vancouver operations, container release processes, and terminal systems**.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and terminal staff.
- Flexible to work extended hours if required by port schedules.
