What your day and week could look like
Reporting to the Director, IT and Security, a Systems Administrator plays an essential role in supporting all aspects of our operations. This includes:
- Providing first and second level technical support of current information systems locally and remotely. This includes:
- Receiving and coordinating in-house inquiries, problems, and service requests regarding all corporate hardware, software, and information systems (leveraging a helpdesk platform)
- Contacting appropriate service personnel and follow-up as required
- Troubleshooting hardware and software with contract vendors
- Advising, instructing, and training staff on the basic operation of hardware and software
- Creating raving fans through a personable, courteous, and professional manner to all inquiries and problems
- Configuring, setting up, administering, and troubleshooting of workstations, Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, servers, and production infrastructure
- Identifying and troubleshooting network and connectivity problems
- Developing and maintaining of physical inventory and related database of all hardware, software, equipment, and parts
- Maintaining, testing, and resolution of issues of all PC hardware and associated peripherals such as scanners and printers
- Performing routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking components and/or equipment
- Backing up network data and disaster recovery
**What you bring**
- Three (3) or more years’ experience working in Help Desk support, PC hardware, software, and network administration
- Willing availability for after hours on-call rotation, some weekend work, and contributing to a team providing 24x7 support
- Quickness at picking up and understanding business needs and context
- Keeping your cool when dealing with stressed IT users
- Agile and analytical problem solving
- Deep capacity to thrive in a dynamic, changing business environment
- Upbeat and results-oriented team contributions
- Capacity to toggle between working independently and collaboratively
- Maintaining attention to detail and efficiencies while juggling multiple priorities
- Fluent ability to communicate business information in English; compétences smililaires en français sont un atout
- Motivation and drive towards continuous learning and growth within your role and the company
