**About us**:
Smør Scandinavian Bakery is an artisan bakery in Sidney BC. We opened in July, 2024, and we are ready to expand our team We specialize in baked goods from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland (ex: dense sourdough rye bread, sweet cardamom knots, crispbreads, heart-shaped waffles, and more) Our mission is to share Scandinavian culture with everyone in our community by offering high-quality baked goods and warm Scandinavian hospitality.

**About you**:
The successful applicant MUST be:

- Friendly, respectful, and honest
- Formally trained and/or experienced working in a commercial kitchen
- Currently living in the Sidney/Victoria area, and legally entitled to work in Canada
- FoodSafe certified (or willing to certify before starting work)
- Comfortable lifting heavy objects and standing for an 8hr shift
- Able to understand, speak, and read basic English
- Practise good personal hygiene

**About this position**:
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will be responsible for preparing soups, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items from scratch. You will also be expected to assist the baker as time permits, preparing buns, cookies, cakes, etc. We maintain a high standard of cleanliness, and all staff are expected to participate in scheduled cleaning tasks.

Schedule:
Thursday - Monday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (includes a 30min lunch break)
*Please note that this schedule is negotiable, but strong preference will be given to applicants willing to work weekends.

**Duties**:

- Assemble grab & go sandwiches
- Cook daily soup & quiche
- Prepare meals to order (ex: open-faced sandwiches, salads, waffles)
- Prep menu components (ex: slice sandwich meats, mix salad dressings, etc)
- Baking tasks as assigned
- Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties

Pay & benefits:

- $20-22/hr based on training and experience
