Facilities Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, coordinates, evaluates, and contributes to the operation of the Maintenance and Security departments. These tasks include participation in human resource management, fiscal management, information management, risk mitigation, project planning and assistance in the redevelopment project on a day-to-day basis.
The coordinator is responsible for pursuing personal professional development, and promotes ongoing staff development, and team building.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
Construction and Maintenance Electrician license (309A), Industrial Mechanic Millwright license (433A), Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) General Carpenter (403A), or Building Operator Certification, all considered assets.
Current licensing with a respective professional association is considered an asset.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a maintenance department including three (3) years relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
Three (3) years minimum supervisory position preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interpret program data, architectural and engineering documents, specialized equipment specifications, code and standards intent and provide analysis to support advancement of SMH objectives.
Demonstrated ability to develop reporting, scheduling, and presentation documentation.
Previous project management experience to include a demonstrated ability to complete project costs projections with a high degree of accuracy.
Leading a multi-functional team providing clear instructions, monitoring progress.
Must have a valid drivers’ license and vehicle.
Membership in Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES) is an asset.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work in a continuously changing environment, to identify variances and implement strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
Analytical and evaluation skills to investigate requests, complaints and issues and provide recommendations.
Ability to supervise.
Ability to effectively employ human relation skills including conflict resolution.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job with walking, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, lifting, inclement weather and construction environment required. Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills.
May be required to address concerns after core business hours
Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software.

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, Weekend work may be required as needed.
