Server

Bodega Ridge Resort is located on beautiful Galiano Island, BC.

We are a vacation rental and destination weddings and events resort.
Bodega is looking for servers to join our seasonal Spring and Summer team.
As a server, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests in our restaurant, our café, and at weddings and other special events. You will work alongside our kitchen and bar staff to ensure that our guests have a memorable dining experience.

**Ability to commute/relocate is key**:
This role is ideal for those looking for a live/work experience on Galiano Island

A plan to relocate before starting work is required
Bodega Ridge offers shared on site accommodation for reasonable fees

**Experience**:
Server in a restaurant or bar environment is an asset
Server in a catered event or wedding banquet environment is an asset
Server in a diner, cafe, coffee shop environment is an asset

**Qualifications**:
Proven experience Server in a restaurant or bar environment is an asset
Front desk experience is an asset
Attention to detail maintaining high cleaning standards for glassware, cutlery, and table setting items
Previous experience serving at weddings and other special events is an asset but not required
Barista experience an asset
Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine and the ability to prepare and serve them is an asset
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other staff members
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Must have a valid Serving It Right certification or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Duties

As a Bodega server, you will be assigned to work as part of a team in our three different areas of service: café, restaurant and wedding. In addition to these areas, front desk duties and general tasks referring to the operational needs of the resort may be assigned.

Restaurant Service

Welcome guests maintain dining ambiance with enthusiasm and warmth
Provide excellent customer service during dining experience
Provide information to assist food and beverage selections; memorizing food menu, ingredients and specials
Take food orders in a friendly and welcoming manner
Submit orders correctly and efficiently to the kitchen
Serve food and beverages carrying dishes from kitchen to or bar area to the tables
Setting tables throughout the shift

Café Service

Welcome guests and maintain a friendly, welcoming ambiance with enthusiasm and warmth
Front of house duties
Provide excellent customer service
Provide information about grocery items and menu options
Prepare and serve snack menu options
Cashier duties
Prepare and serve coffee
Follow cleaning procedures on opening and closing

Wedding Service

Set up of table settings according to wedding planner instructions
Clean up service areas before and after shifts ensuring glassware/cutlery is clean and polished
Work in tandem as part of a team of servers to serve wedding guests family style
Provide information to guests about food ingredients as food is being served
Take down of table settings and general clean up
Garbage and Recycling Duties as assigned

COMPENSATION

$18/hr + gratuities + service fees
May 15 to August 30
30 -40 hrs per week
