Company Overview

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing organic food manufacturing company located just east of Calgary, Alberta, at 244071 Range Road 264, Wheatland County — between Calgary and Strathmore. Our company operates a brand-new, state-of-the-art 32,000 sq. ft. food manufacturing and distribution facility, equipped to handle a wide variety of organic food packaging and processing operations.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Food Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for hiring and managing your own team, while working closely with company leadership to achieve production and quality objectives.

The company will provide:

- All production and packaging equipment
- All raw materials and supplies
- Office space and administrative support

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all aspects of food production, including materials, labor, and equipment utilization, ensuring operations meet the highest standards of efficiency and food safety.
- Hire, train, and manage production and warehouse staff.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules to meet company sales and inventory targets.
- Oversee food safety certification requirements; related fees can be charged back to the company as part of the contract.
- Ensure all products are packaged, cased, and palletized for shipment in compliance with food safety and quality protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
- Prepare and submit purchase orders and budget recommendations to the CEO for approval.
- Inspect production runs to ensure adherence to quality standards and staff procedures.
- Implement corrective actions promptly when discrepancies occur.
- Establish production systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance benchmarks.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving as required.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to the CEO.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of food manufacturing or production management experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with food packaging equipment, automated lines, and production scheduling.
- Proven ability to hire, train, and manage teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations, quality control, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain high-quality output while ensuring cost-effective production.

Knowledge & Core Skills
- Proficient in planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes.
- Skilled in implementing quality assurance and food safety programs.
- Ability to develop production schedules, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary to meet targets.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to motivate and supervise staff.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.

Compensation
- Salary up to $150,000/year.
- The company supplies all necessary equipment, facility utilities (building, heat, lighting), and covers food safety certification fees.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Full-time, long-term contract position

Pay: $60,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
