Shift Supervisors will work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and overnights. They will supervise program operations and all duties and responsibilities in a proactive manner. This includes delegating work to Support Workers and supervising that work. In a person-centered manner, their supervision will include ensuring the policies and procedures of the multi-disciplinary team are followed by staff and the basic rules are followed by residents. With the Support Workers, they will provide support, advocacy and information to residents through person-centered strategies that support independence.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Delegate responsibilities to Support Worker IIs and supervise performance; provide training on team member duties as required.
- Report problems in team functioning and serious incidents with residents or staff to Program Manager.
- Support participant progress in SMART Plans, collaborate with Medical Case Manager (LPN) on client medical needs, and coordinate with the Recovery Case Manager to ensure that requests for treatment are addressed.
- Sensitively and appropriately assist residents to meet their personal care needs to a high standard, including assistance with laundry and preparing meals when necessary.
- Assist residents to take any prescribed medicine, complying with all medicine policies, including storage, administering and record keeping.
- Work with management to facilitate procedure improvement and will ensure good communication between teams, and implement new procedures to reflect the dynamic nature of the program and the needs of the participants.
- Ensure that all procedures and care plan or wellness plan implementation supports the multidisciplinary team to implement provision of such services.
- Ensure residents have the opportunity for social and leisure activities and assist in introducing them to the range of facilities and amenities in the local neighborhood and wider community.
- Ensure staff rounds are complete and the building is a safe secure environment.
- Serve as the primary landlord contact after hours and ensure proper emergency services are contacted when needed.
- Conduct shift exchange meetings with oncoming staff
- Record daily attendance of team members
- Ensure secure lock-up of client money and valuables
- Record client information in ETO and on FYI database as required
- Attend staff meetings
- Participate in training as necessary
- Complete home inspections, hourly rounds, QOL surveys, and other tasks, as required by the program

**Position Qualifications**
- Ideally, a degree or diploma in a Human Services field with 1 to 2 years of direct experience in working in a supervisory capacity in a residential setting. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- An open, accepting and non-judgmental attitude with an ability to build rapport with clients and staff
- Experience working with people with complex life circumstances associated with substance-related disorders, mental health issues, mobility issues and homelessness
- Basic understanding of harm reduction principles based on dignity, hope and healing as individuals move forward towards improved health and well-being
- Demonstrated understanding of the addictions field
- Knowledge of referrals resources
- Understanding of inner-city issues
- A Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED training
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License
- Personal vehicle with $2 million liability and ability to transport residents as needed

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
