Wind Cries Mary is looking to fill the position of lead host. We are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality and attention to detail. Wind Cries Mary has always had a focus on guest experience and as the first face people see when they walk through the door we are looking to you to set the tone for their evening. You will be working directly with management when it comes to group bookings, reservation management, and general inquiries. The ability to think on your feet is important as there are many moving parts when trying to accommodate as many requests as possible. As the lead host you will also have a hand in training all new FOH staff on reservation procedures, answering the phones, website navigation and expectations when it comes to guest interactions.

Along with maintaining the flow of the restaurant your daily duties include:

- Answering the phone & taking reservations, filling out large party inquiry forms for guests
- Provide guests with information about the restaurant, hours of operation, specials, menus, events etc.
- Assist colleagues with the aim to create a seamless guest experience & enhance dining enjoyment, this includes relaying information to the server regarding allergies, special occasions and guest requests
- Performing open, close & regular side duties to maintain a clean, stocked and organized work environment
- Clearing & re-setting tables for newly arrived guests
- Maintaining cleanliness of host station, entryway and patios
- Running food and beverages as needed
- Managing take out orders including packaging and handling payment
- Setting up of any large groups or private events
- Genuinely, professionally & sympathetically communicating with guests & handling customer concerns
Bathroom checks, menu counts, menu maintenance

We provide a daily staff meal at the end of your shift. Employee discounts available at both Wind Cries Mary, Birdman and Rudi. We host two staff parties a year as well as wine school and other educational staff outings.
