**Shipper / Receiver**

AWT Ottawa has an opening for one permanent, full-time, Shipper/Receiver (existing vacancy).

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving, shipping and keeping accurate physical and digital documentation of all activities.

**Who you are**:

- Experienced in shipping/receiving/warehousing in the manufacturing industry.
- Detailed oriented / problem solver.
- Experienced operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Team player with good time management skills and able to multitask while prioritizing based on urgency.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision and handle emergency situations.
- Good communicator (verbal and written skills).
- Safety-first attitude.
- Ethical worker.
- Able to stand for long periods of time in one area and dexterity.
- Computer literate and generally comfortable with technology.
- Able to obtain Controlled Goods Certification

**Primary responsibilities**
- Organizes and manages all incoming finished goods from production.
- Compiles necessary documentation from various departments to be included in customer shipments.
- Collaborates with all departments to ensure timely shipments and receipt of goods.
- Packages and labels products for delivery to customers.
- Enters, prints and prepares all shipping documentation and packages.
- Verifies accuracy of shipments and ensures that special shipping requirements on job orders and specifications are met.
- Initiates product shipments and coordinates with couriers to arrange pickups/deliveries.
- Processes the appropriate documentation within the ERP system.
- Assists with inventory management.
- Responds to shipping/receiving enquiries and communicates with all departments.
- Provides support and/or files shipping claims as needed.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely to lift, move and arrange shipments.
- Completes monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliation of finished goods.
- Performs general warehouse maintenance.
- Supports “Lean” initiatives, as well as 5S programs in concert with production management.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in warehousing processes and implements best practices to optimize the use of resources and quality.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Warehouse experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Shipping & receiving: 3 years (preferred)
- Time management: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
